What did you do before you met Billy and the young avengers??

I had a pretty normal life! Single mum, went to highschool, raided comic books on the weekend…heh, it all seems so far away now. So much has happened. 

Yeah I remember when I went to high school. Goodness, it’s been almost 10 years now. Once you get into the hero groove things seem to change and become much different.

The homework doesn’t. I have about six assignments sitting at home on my desk. I’ll do them properly, but i can just never be bothered! And when i can be bothered, i’m out defending the city or being called out to mandatory training or something! 

That’s unfortunate! I realize the pain of being a superhero and having school work to do. It’s hard but I managed to get both done and i believe you can too! *smiles*

[groans] one more year. That’s it. After this year i’m finished. I’ll decide whether i’m going to college then. Somehow, being a full time superhero doesn’t seem like a sustainable job.

well, yeah…i mean, i’d love to just be a full time superhero and just do what i do best….but i also wanna start a family one day, y’know? And to do that i’d need to actually have some sort of a normal life going. Get a job, find that apartment….that sort of stuff. 

Most definitely. How did your mom die? Sorry, I didn’t mean to just blurt that out but we were talking about family and I just kinda spat it. You don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to. I realize how hard it can be.

No, no. It’s alright. It happened a few years ago now. Uh, you know how i’m half skrull and half kree? Well…a little while ago both sides decided they wanted me on their team to help them win the war. My mum was a skrull that my real mother had put in charge of looking after me, and she was killed trying to defend me from the Super Skrull. It was horrible, but…at least she died a hero, y’know?

Of course. It was a very noble death. It’s hard to go through so much at such a young age, I understand. Clinical psychology tells us arguably that trauma is the ultimate killer. But when you have support and a loving fiance, you can make it through anything.
